What to expect

Therapy is a safe space where you can voice your thoughts freely, and you will not be judged. Your therapist will ask engaging questions, challenge your beliefs, and help you process your experiences at your pace. Some may ask, “What if I don’t know what to say?” Your therapist is trained to ask questions that start the conversation, even if you don’t know where to begin.

Therapy sessions happen at a time and place convenient to you. Online therapy allows you to have your session anywhere in the state of NJ. Whether you want to meet from your car, your bed, or at your kid’s school pick up line, it’s completely up to you.

The most important aspect of therapy is confidentiality. Sessions are completely confidential, meaning your therapist cannot share any of the information you provide in a session. The only times a therapist is allowed to break confidentiality is if you are a danger to yourself, others, or there is any suspected child or elder abuse or neglect.

Therapy happens at your pace. Your therapist will make a recommendation to how often you should attend sessions. Most of the time, it’s recommended to start at least with weekly sessions before moving to biweekly or monthly. However, you know your needs, and we respect the cadence you find necessary. After the intake session, you will be able to discuss your scheduling needs with your therapist.
